New Delhi: Amid concerns over the fourth wave of corona virus that will hit India in the coming days, the Center has advised the states and union territories to continue to focus on a five-pronged strategy to stem the outbreak of Govt-19 in the country.

Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written a letter to all the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries (Health) of all the States and Union Territories, urging them to continue to focus on the five-fold strategy, i.e. the Test-track-treat. According to the ANI, adherence to vaccine and Govt appropriate behavior.

The Centre’s advice to states and union territories comes after the World Health Organization warned countries to be vigilant against the virus. Figures showing a global rise in Govt-19 cases could indicate a major problem as some countries report a drop in test rates, the WHO said on Tuesday.

More than a month after the crash, Govt-19 cases began to rise worldwide last week as the WHO says it is struggling to contain the outbreak of locks in Asia and China’s Jilin province.

The combination of factors has led to an increase in the highly pervasive Omigran variant and its PA2 sublimation and increase in public health and social activities, the WHO said.

“This increase is happening even though trials have been reduced in some countries, which means that the cases we see are only the tip of the iceberg,” WHO President Tetros Adanom Caprais told reporters.

Low vaccination rates in some countries are driven by “large amounts of misinformation”, which was explained by WHO officials. New infections worldwide increased by 8% compared to the previous week, with 11 million new cases and 43,000 new deaths reported between March 7-13. This is the first increase since the end of January.

The biggest improvement was in the WHO’s West Pacific region, which includes South Korea and China, where cases increased by 25% and deaths by 27%.

There has been a 12% increase in new cases and a 14% increase in deaths in Africa and a 2% increase in cases in Europe, but there has been no improvement in deaths. Cases have been reported to be declining in other regions, including the eastern Mediterranean, although there has been a 38% increase in deaths in this region, which is associated with an increase in previous epidemics.

With cases rising in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom since early March, many experts have raised concerns that Europe is facing another corona virus wave.

At the WHO’s Maria van Kerkow conference BA.2 appeared to be the most pervasive variation so far. However, there is no indication that it causes a more serious disease and there is no evidence that any other new variants are driving the increase in cases.

The picture in Europe is not universal. Denmark, for example, saw a brief peak in cases in the first half of February, driven by BA.2, which quickly eased. But experts are beginning to warn that the United States may soon see a wave similar to the one seen in Europe, driven by BA.2, due to deregulation of vaccines given several months ago and weakened immunity.
