Pete Davidson is no more To fly into space With a blue appearance this month after the release date was postponed for six days, Blue Origin reported on Thursday. It is not yet clear who will replace the 28-year-old comedian on the trip.
“Blue Origin’s New Shepherd 20th aircraft has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 29,” the company said. “Pete Davidson can no longer join the NS-20 team on this mission. We will announce a sixth team member in the coming days.”
A Blue Origin spokesman told CBS News that the company needed to delay the flight so that it could run “additional pre-flight tests on one of the vehicle’s subsystems.”
Davidson was originally scheduled to depart March 23 with Marty Allen, husband and wife twins Sharon and Mark Hagel, Jim Kitchen and George Nealt.
This is the fourth voyage of the new Shepherd project. The first plane was carrying Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos, his brother Mark, 82-year-old airline pioneer Wally Funk and 18-year-old Oliver Damon. Other celebrities, including William Shatner and Michael Strahan, have flown into space on Bezos’ planes.
