BCCI Secretary Jay Shaw's tenure has been extended by one year
The term of BCCI Secretary Jay Shaw, who chairs the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), was unanimously extended to one year at its annual general meeting on Saturday.
In January last year, Shah took over the administration of the ACC from Nasmul Hasan, chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), and replaced him as the junior executive who was re-appointed as ACC chairman.
Speaking at the AGM, Shaw said the ACC’s main focus is to promote the development of the sport in the region.
“We are committed to ensuring the all-round development of cricket in the region, especially the pioneering work in women’s cricket and the many grassroots competitions that the ACC conducts in the region throughout the year,” Shaw said.
“The epidemic is behind us, and I’m looking forward to transforming, innovating and helping ACC grow from strength to strength from here,” he added.
Shaw’s extension was proposed by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Shammi Silva and the appointment was unanimously supported by all members of the ACC.
“I would like to thank all my esteemed colleagues at ACC for putting their trust in me and for considering me worthy to continue all the work we started,” Shaw said.
“I humbly acknowledge this honor and I am committed to work hard to organize, promote and enhance our beloved cricket in the region and help the ACC continue to grow in stature,” he added.
