Dhaka: More than 150 mobs stormed the ISKCON Radhakanta temple in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. The media reported that the incident took place on Thursday.

Voice Of Bangladeshi Hindus shared pictures of the attack on the ISKCON Radhakanta temple in Dhaka on Twitter.

The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) said the temple was attacked by a mob of 150 people. The organization said on Twitter that three people had been injured in an attack on an ISKCON temple in Bangladesh.

According to a press release from the official website of the Hindu American Foundation (HAF), 150 criminals led by Haji Shafiullah attacked the ISKCON temple on 22 Lalmohan Saha Street in Wari Thana, Dhaka, around 8pm on March 17.

“They damaged the temple, idols and looted money and other valuables. At least 3 Hindu devotees were injured during the attack,” the HAF said in a statement on its website.

“These attacks are very worrying. We urge the Bangladeshi government to take drastic action and provide security to the Hindu minority in the country,” said Radharaman Das, ISKCON’s vice-president in Kolkata, on the attack on the Radhakanta temple in Dhaka.

The latest attack on the ISKCON temple comes just months after a series of attacks on minority places of worship in Bangladesh last October.

A devotee was killed when a mob stormed an ISKCON temple in Nokali, Bangladesh, on October 16.

Earlier, communal tensions erupted in Bangladesh on October 13 last year following allegations that the Quran had been insulted at a prayer hall in Gumilla, sparking violence in several districts across the country.
