Pharmaceutical maker Moderna on Thursday asked the Food and Drug Administration to approve the fourth shot. COVID-19 Vaccine as a stimulant for all adults.
The demand is wider than the competing pharmaceutical company Pfizer’s request Earlier this week, all seniors were approved to order a booster shot.
In a press release, the company made the request for approval for all adult medical centers to “provide flexibility” to disease control and prevention centers and to determine the “appropriate use” of the second booster dose of the mRNA vaccine. “Including those at high risk for COVID-19 due to age or comorbidities.”

U.S. officials are laying the groundwork for administering additional booster doses to increase the vaccine’s protection against serious illness and death from COVID-19. The White House has warned that Congress needs to “urgently” approve more funding for the federal government to protect against large-scale COVID-19 vaccines, such as extra booster shots or different-specific vaccines.
U.S. health officials are currently recommending a primary series of two doses of the modern vaccine and a booster dose months later.
Moderna said the request for an additional dose was based on “data recently released in the United States and Israel following the appearance of Omigron”.
On Tuesday, Pfizer and its partner BioNTech asked U.S. regulators to approve an additional booster dose of their COVID-19 vaccine for seniors, saying Israel’s data will benefit the elderly.
